Institute for Biblical Aramaic Studies

The Institute for Biblical Aramaic Studies (IBAS) was established in 2019 as an independent research institute dedicated exclusively to the study of Aramaic-language biblical texts and related traditions. The institute has obtained legal recognition from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia and operates as a research-focused institution within the framework of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, with a focus on the research pillar.

Based in Raffles Hills, Block N, Cibubur, East Jakarta, Indonesia, IBAS serves as a center for scholarly research and academic publication in Aramaic studies.

The Institute for Biblical Aramaic Studies was founded by Andre Akijuwen, Jr., who serves as the Founder. The establishment of IBAS reflects a commitment to strengthening Aramaic research within Indonesia and contributing to international scholarship.
